Blog Journal #6
My initial experiences with Diigo have been pretty good. I am still learning how exactly to use it but I like how that I can bookmark and see other peoples bookmarks for online resources. I like the social aspect of it; by being able to share bookmarks with your group it makes resource sharing more collaborative. One thing I do no like is how the UI is set up. It seems a little unorganized to me.
I happen to like my experience with blogging. I enjoy the creative part of it and how I can express my thoughts, ideas, and experiences. Being able to regularly write my thoughts has helped me clarify my thoughts on some topics or things I wouldn't have necessarily thought about. At first, I didn't fully understand how to work it like the technical aspects but other than that it has been a good experience. I look forward better my blogging skills.
One interesting Web 2.0 tool that I've come across is Quizizz. One of my teachers in high school used this with our class and I kind of liked it better than Kahoot. Quizizz is a like Kahoot being it is a game based learning platform that teachers can create interactive quizzes. What I like about Quizizz is that you can take part in the quizzes individually or as a team. It is also self-paced unlike Kahoot. Personally, I usually struggle with the timer on Kahoot and feel like it is not enough time or I am still thinking about the answer. Even if I knew the answer or were to get the question right, the other students who answered or guessed faster would get a higher score. So overall, Quizizz is an effective tool to access student knowledge, reinforce learning, and promote engagement in the classroom.
I totally agree with you on your stance towards Diigo. I have never seen anything like thsi before but i like it, I just have to play around with it a little bit and get the hang of it some more. But I think this is a great resource to be able to use in the classroom!
