I selected grade levels 3-5 and chose the standard that focuses on data analysis. This standard emphasizes the importance of understanding how data is searched, organized, and utilized in everyday contexts. Specifically, students are expected to explain how searches can be enhanced using Boolean logic, identify examples of databases in daily life, collect and analyze data sets using appropriate technologies, and use databases or spreadsheets to organize and present data. With my background in statistics, I have a strong foundation in data analysis concepts, which will be advantageous in teaching students about this standard. My expertise can facilitate the explanation of complex statistical concepts in a way that is accessible and engaging for elementary-level students. Additionally, I can leverage real-world examples and applications of data analysis to make the content more relevant and meaningful to my students. My background will likely enhance my confidence in implementing this standard in the classroom, allowing me to provide enriching learning experiences for my students.

I selected the eighth-grade mathematics grade level. Within the toolkit, I focused on the subject area of mathematics and selected the standard "MA.K12.MTR.7.1: Apply mathematics to real-world contexts." This standard encourages students to connect mathematical concepts to real-world situations. The available resources were some lesson plans and a perspective video. I can use these resources in my teaching by selecting the concepts that align with my instructional goals and teaching style. I can incorporate these concepts into my own lesson plans and or teaching strategies. By integrating real-world contexts, I can make the learning experience more meaningful and relevant.

Being proficient in Internet searching is essential for teachers as it allows them to have access to a vast amount of educational resources, materials, and any information that can enhance their teaching practices. Of the Internet searching skills introduced this week, I think I will use Google's advanced search option most moving forward as it allows for more precise and targeted results which saves me time and helps me find more relevant information. One skill that wasn't mentioned that I do use is refining my searches to file types. This helps me find documents in particular formats like PDF or PowerPoint which helps me in finding the information I need faster. Often times when I search for information on Google a site will try to get me to log in or create an account to access the information. by refining the search by the document format I don't have to worry about that.
